Caroline Clemmow - Adjudicator
NORAH SANDE AWARD 2025
A piano competition for Young Adult Pianists of Kent, Sussex, Surrey and London postal districts
Caroline Clemmow ARCM, LRAM, ARAM
Caroline Clemmow was awarded a piano scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music where she won many prizes for both solo and ensemble playing. As a chamber musician she was a founder member of the Hartley Piano Trio and worked with many other groups such as Kaleidoscope, Serenata and the Koening Ensemble. She has also performed as an accompanist with many renowned instrumentalists including Dame Evelyn Glennie.
A major part of her career was the celebrated piano duo with the late Anthony Goldstone, described by Gramophone magazine as "a dazzling husband and wife team”. They performed worldwide and recorded over forty CDs, often of unjustly neglected works.
As a member of the British and International Federation of Festivals, Caroline has undertaken many visits to festivals and competitions all over the UK. She has adjudicated for the BBC Young Musician of the Year, International Young Concert Artists and for many years was an examiner for the Associated Board at both grade and diploma levels. She is a sought-after teacher, many students gaining awards to prestigious institutions and she is also in demand for giving master classes and for coaching ensembles.
